Plush Keychains And Charms

At charm size the pattern budget shrinks to a few millimetres. The turtle below shows what the photograph can support: a domed body, a short head, and a split ring on a small connector. How that connector is fixed inside the body is not visible.

What Changes At Charm Size

One sample, read closely.

A keychain is not a small plush toy. The body has to keep its shape with less filling, and the hardware has to be attached somewhere that holds. What the image shows is the outside: a ring, a clasp and a small connector at the top of the shell.

The shell reads as a dome from above and the head is short, but the photograph does not resolve whether the shell is cut in segments, how much filling is used, or whether the connector is sewn between panels or anchored some other way.

One build is shown here. It is a single documented example, not a product range, and it is not presented as one.

Hardware type, plating and attachment method are agreed per project; the photo is not a specification.

    Turtle Charm With Split Ring

The sewn charm is photographed on a split ring with a short chain and a small connector at the crown. The domed shell and the stub limbs are visible; the inside of the body and the fixing point are hidden by the connector itself.

What Charm Size Costs

Read from the single sample and the drawing beside it.

What Charm Size Costs
Decision PointWhat To ConfirmWhy It Matters
VisibleSplit ring, clasp, short chain, connector at the crown, domed shell, stub limbs.Enough to judge the look, not the attachment.
Not VisibleHow the connector is fixed, filling amount, shell panel layout. These are sampling questions, not photo facts.
Load QuestionA charm carries keys or hangs on a bag; the load differs by use.Attachment strength has to be specified for the intended load.
ScaleReads at hand size, not at shelf distance.Judging it from a photo overstates the detail.

Before You Ask For A Sample

Photographs show the finished piece, not the inside: hardware type and attachment point has to be confirmed on the sample or in the brief rather than read from a picture.

  • Proportion and size: state the finished height or length you need.
  • Surface and craft: say whether the look depends on pile, print or embroidery.
  • Build detail for this form: Plush Keychain Customization.

Decisions Before A Charm Sample

Three that change the pattern.

Choose what identifies the object at charm size. Usually it is one shape and one colour break, not a face. If the character needs a face, expect the charm to grow.

Decide the attachment by load, not by look: a split ring for keys, a clip for a bag. The fixing method and its reinforcement are agreed at sampling, because the photograph does not show them.

Decide whether small parts are acceptable. For markets with young children, metal hardware and attached features raise a small-parts question settled by the age group, not by the sample.

Age grading and small-parts requirements are confirmed per market before sampling.

Keychain Questions

How Small Can A Plush Keychain Be?

The limit is the feature you refuse to lose. A silhouette survives at charm size; a face usually pushes the item larger.

Can The Ring Be Attached Anywhere?

It has to be anchored into something that carries the load, and the method is agreed at sampling. The photograph on this page shows a connector but not what it is fixed to.

Can These Be Sold For Young Children?

That depends on the age group and the market’s small-parts rules. Metal hardware and attached features are assessed per project, not assumed safe because the item is soft.

What Is The Difference Between A Bag Charm And A Keyring?

Usually the attachment and the weight. A keyring carries keys and needs hardware that survives metal-on-metal wear; a bag charm hangs and can use a lighter clip. The turtle sample uses a split ring, which suits keys.
